( "A matter of trading, favours earned, favours given. Effecting change in the world." ) I don't know, a lot of this stuff looks awfully...fuzzy to me. But there might be elements that I can extract for use in understanding and adapting to what passes for Equivalent Trade in this world.Current Mood: thoughtful

( "As a matter of fact, he does, and he can." )
It's not fair, people like that just going around tearing people's souls out I wonder how Equivalent Trade deals with that. This angel thing takes souls? Where does he put them? I'll have to look into it.

( "And it's not bad here. They've got lots of books." ) I can't afford to get lazy now. I'd better get to work on finding out about the Philosopher's Stone in this world.

» Some persuasion on the employment front.
( "You're not a burden. Burdens piss me off. You don't." ) I'm definitely making progress here. Still so much to do, though.

» Hamburgered Magda!
( "Don't try to make this about me! You're the one who's sitting there looking like you got used as a cat toy!" ) I'm going to find whoever or whatever did this to Magda and-- --and then I don't know. But I'll make them regret it.

( "What, you think I work with living things? No way in hell. That shit never ends well." ) I'm making progress, I think. Soon, Al, soon I'll get you here--and then we'll find a way to fix you.

» You have got to be kidding me.
( A centaur? ) This is getting ridiculous.
But maybe Spiro's right about one thing--maybe I should try to avoid getting involved in so much trouble. At least until I've got Al here to work with.
More importantly, though, I need to remember to look up what the Philosopher's Stone is like in this world.

( Yes, kittens. ) I don't care what anyone else says. I'll make the Infinity Effect get Al back to me, and then I'll fix him. Finally.

( Meeting Warren and Trevor. ) I really need to get a job so I don't need to rely on other people for food. I hate that.

( Hulk like Twinkies. )
Okay, that was really weird.
I think I should investigate these strange snack foods--I can't even tell what they're made of. Maybe all these synthetic materials that the people here seem to like so much could be useful...

» About the Infinity Effect.
( At the Infinity Pit. ) I'm making progress now, I think. I have some samples from the Infinity Pit to study, although I don't know if I can get access to the proper equipment here. Still, I might be able to get in touch with people who know more about this. But vampires? Angels? Dragons? I know the science here is different than in my world, but I still can't figure out how some of those things would be possible.

» Food!
Note: study these processed foodstuffs and the composition thereof. See if any more people like this "Ria" exist--people with powers that seem like alchemy but aren't. Now I'm going to bed before Magda tries to tuck me in again. ( Meeting at McDonald's. )

» Settling in.
So this woman Magda's decided she has to take me in. And there's this big red guy--calls himself Hellboy, of all things--who's staying with her too. He's not wearing red. He is red. He says he isn't a chimera or a homonculus, but I've never seen anything like him before.
This place keeps getting stranger. I've started to do some research on the Infinity Effect, though--that's the thing which screws with the 'dimensional barriers' or whatever they call it. There've been lots of studies on the physics of it (and all they've come up with, really, is 'we don't know'), but nobody's tried using alchemy. I don't see why I can't transmute it and force it to take me back home.
Or to bring Al here. I don't want to displace him like that, but...from some of the things I've seen in this place, he has a much better chance of getting his body back here than he ever would back home.
It's something to think about.
